It’s my 7th day working at WinMagic Inc. So far, the training has been a little slow. The guy who got here 2 weeks before I did is teaching me. It’s like another cycle of someone who pretends to know more than I do is trying to boss me around. I’ve had it! I don’t really give a shit cause I don’t report to him. He pushes paper around all day pretending to work and sucking up to the VP of Sales. I’m just laughing inside cause there’s no efing way that he can tell me what to do.
Yesterday, the Marketing Director dressed up as the WinMagic mascot. I can only imagine that it could be the Marketing team. Here’s what I see in terms characteristics of each division and why it’s the Marketing team:
Admin staff / Payroll: Everyone loves them cause though they don’t actually pay us.. but rather make our checks. They are serious about money and probably will not be caught in a mascot suit for a fear of being demoted.
PSE (Pre-Sales Engineer): The true sales people are PSEs. They’re unhappy cause the sales people take the credit of the sale. They’re not making enough money to be in the mascot suit.
Sales People: They take 4 hours for lunch and how will they ever fit in 15 minutes of wearing a mascot suit in between pretending to actual sell.
QA (Quality Assurance): They are a quietest bunch and can only be heard coming in and leaving. Can’t be them either.
Development Team: They’re too busy working on actual problems. They would rather sit in front of their computer than be caught in a mascot suit.
Business Development (My Team): Ya… We’re the newest ones here and we didn’t even know that there was a mascot suit. The only ones left are the Marketing team.. they have to much time on their hands. Besides, the mascot suit fit Joseph perfectly.
